When a movie is in fast-forward the images race on the screen and there’s very little detail you can pick up on— let alone absorb the plot.

Similarly, our lives can feel this way.

We practice yoga so that we can slow the picture down.

Tune into the minutia. Start with breath.

Kate is an angel of a human. The most considerate, warm, professional, gentle, thoughtful and generous spirited instructor. It is such a joy working with her and I count myself very lucky that our mats crossed and I got to practice under her wisdom and guidance.

Kate has provided the staff of the Toronto International Film Festival with virtual yoga practices during the pandemic and in person sessions since 2021. Kate has deep practical knowledge and an ability to convey that wisdom to her students, all with a real generosity of spirit and a sense of fun too.

So far, we’ve had some gentle chair yoga classes as well as some traditional mat yoga classes (both passive restorative classes and more active flow classes). Kate offers her group classes in-person or virtually by zoom. All of the participants have enjoyed the classes and it has been a real treat to be able to meet virtually and do something healthy and fun together!

With the stress of Covid and life changes, I found I was having headaches, TMJ issues and stiffness throughout my body. I decided to explore yoga as an alternative to pain medication and treatment. Kate was referred to me as an instructor that could help me go through my healing process in a safe and supportive manner.
